Working Tax Credits
Working Tax Credits are payable to people who work sufficient hours but who are on a low income.
You could get Working Tax Credit if:
- You are aged 16 or over
- You work a certain number of hours a week
- You get paid for the work you do (or expect to)
- Your income is below a certain level
The basic amount of Working Tax Credit is up to £1,920 a year - you could get more (or less) depending on your circumstances and income.
You can apply for Working Tax Credits even if you don’t have children or you’re on leave or about to start a new job.
