Work Experience Case Study
Maureen is in her early forties. Circumstances dictated she must return to work, after 20 years at home. She had been unsuccessful in her job search and was becoming worried that her skills were out of date. She came to the Portland Centre.
We discussed her skills, experience and work history and found she was, indeed an unattractive prospect to recruiting Employers. We decided to begin Work Experience in The Portland Centre. She worked diligently everyday and soon became familiar with the new technology that all modern offices now regularly use.
In a few months, she felt ready to seek paid employment and we helped her with her applications. She had a number of interviews and was eventually employed as a Receptionist at a Dental Practice in Weymouth.
